My story
Many places, many moments.
I grew up in Benicia, California. Portland is where I learned to love the rain. The desert taught me what the dark is for, and Fujino put indigo deep under my fingernails.
Everywhere I've lived and traveled has changed how I see, hear, smell, and describe the world. This City Loves You is my way of handing a little of that to someone else: a card you can feel as well as read, made for the places that shape us and the people we send them to.
I have spent my entire life with a tool in my hands: a sewing needle, a paintbrush, a carving knife, a digital tablet. One of my favorite activities is taking an art class and I've rarely played favorites among the myriad techniques and methods available for creative exploration. When I have a story to share, I pick the tool that helps me tell it best. This City Loves You is born out of my desire to make small pieces of art that honor a wide range of materials and styles.
